- Interface is very snappy.
- The screen is incredible. Very bright and the colours are outstanding, and just the perfect size.
- The AllShare app for playing content from a UPnP server is nice. At home, I can store my entire collection of music and videos and play whichever I want.
That said, there are a few issues I encountered:
- Interface, despite its speed, occasionally freezes. I was worried when this occurred an hour after I started using it, but it's only happened a few times since then. Usually lasts no more than 10 seconds.
- No flash for the camera. I'm given to understand that an LED flash is common on smartphone cameras these days, so low-light photos aren't as good as they can be.
- Camera again: no dedicated button, so taking pictures is a bit awkward. Definitely turn on the anti-shake feature.
- AllShare is a little finicky sometimes about detecting media servers. Moreover, the player is a little deficient next to the normal Android video player (it stretches videos to conform to the screen's aspect ratio, and I haven't discovered a way to return the video to its native aspect ratio).
- Battery runs out fairly quickly if your browsing the internet or watching videos all day. Haven't had a chance to test it on pure standby yet, but you aren't likely to go a whole day if you're using the "smart" part of the smartphone.
Even though I listed more issues than positives, the phone is very good and I would recommend it to anyone. All the other aspects of the phone are common to other Android sets and should be well known to Android lovers. The Samsung additions to the UI such as Daily Briefing (weather, stocks and news in a widget) and the seven homescreens are nice touches, but not particularly a deal breaker, and I haven't tried any of the other Samsung apps.
An additional note: this phone is really, really light and thin. While some other reviews have thought it too "plasticy", I absolutely love the build. I can use it all day.
The input method, Swype is also on by default, but you can get this on other Android phones. Very nice, though, and a nice thought from Samsung. Check out some videos on Youtube of it, but I also have to say that it's hard to say how nice this function is without using it yourself.
Some other details: this version is the 8GB internal memory model. For Americans and countries using similar power sockets, since this is the international version the charger it comes with is the Europlug style. You'll need to get either a converter or your own plug with a micro-USB connector.

1. LG has a app store, but this phone is conisdered as a non us phone. So people who buy it in US will not be able to make use of online LG app store. (This phone works perfectly fine whether you are US or not- its just the online site which we cant take advantage of)
2. Camera tough impressive in day light ,not really good for dim light, inspite of 8 MP and flash.
3. GPS is assisted GPS ,so you need wifi or 3g to use its GPS properly.

(More customer reviews)I am a late adapter when it comes to cell phones. So refrained from Iphones and vu/touch phones as one was mostly tied to a provider data plan or had to pay a premium for the phone itself.
If you dont care about 3g (read data plan 29.99 a month) or GPS there cannot be a better phone at this price range. Solidly built, some reviews complained about back cover. I do see an issue there as it get on the phone with little notches on all sides. But how may times you open that. Specially when SIM/SDHC is accessible from outside. The only time you need to open the back cover is when you install a battery.
What I love about this phone in order of preference.Form Factor (It looks like a phone and not a PDA)
Not tied to a provider or unlocked so you dont have to be geeky searching for unlocking/jail breaking articles.
Wifi 54G (email is good on the run)
Quad Band GSM World Phone
Media/Music playback is excellent.
Can go upto 16GB Micro SDHC (plenty of music or videos) comes with 4Gig.
Speaker phone and in general call quality for me increasd 3-5 times. (I used Razr before).
Clear brilliant screen
Touch pad responsive enough
Picture quality @3.2MP is good in daylight and flash comes in handy for pictures in lowlight (subject @2-4 ft).
What I will look for in future revisions.
USB Charging capability
A little thinner (Not that is fat right now) but it would make it sweeter.
Total Alloy body including back cover for a more solid feel.
Maybe a more rugged look/feel (non piano black or non shiny finish for e.g Zune kind of finish or finish with more friction), I always get a feeling I am going to drop it.

(More customer reviews)I have had my unlocked HTC Desire for a little over two weeks. At first, I was thrilled with it because it has such a nice display and Android 2.1 runs so smoothly. In the last couple of days, though, it has developed an annoying issue and I think all potential buyers should be warned. Occasionally when placing a call, the screen will go blank and there is no way to end the call or get the display back. HTC delivered at least my Desire with this flaw - and there are some hits on Google about this. All you have to do is Google "HTC Desire screen goes blank" to see what I mean. Apparently, the proximity sensor used by HTC does not work correctly all of the time. What it should do is turn off the screen and disable the buttons when you place the phone to your ear. The faulty sensor does not turn the screen back on and enable the buttons when you pull the phone away from your ear. I am hoping the Android 2.2 update will fix this problem, otherwise I am going to return my phone before the 30-day return period expires.
** Edited to add **
Two things have eliminated this problem today - and I do not know which helped the most. First, Android 2.2 was offered on the Desire today and I updated it. Second, one internet post indicated that a clear scratch protector may be causing the problem. I removed the scratch protector from the screen and the problem has gone away. I am not comfortable using it with no scratch protector - but I am much happier with the phone.

(More customer reviews)After experiencing problems with the original Blackberry Storm, Verizon eventually upgraded me to the Storm 2. I have to say that, for the most part, I have been satisfied with this phone. The touchscreen keyboard is only functional for me when it is in the wider landscape mode. When I try to type in the portrait mode, my fingers cannot hit the correct keys simply from the standpoint of spacing. The keys are just too close together. The one issue I experience consistently is when I try to hit the "a" button I instead get a "q" which I do find frustrating. From the standpoint of overall ease of use, this phone is pretty simple to operate. A good number of apps are available including internet based radio from Slacker, Pandora, and i-Heart radio. You can use an aux cable to connect the phone to your car's radio and play these stations through your sound system. The calendar function, contacts, and e-mail all work extremely well on this phone. Occasionally, the phone does freeze which requires a soft reset by removing the battery. For whatever reason, these issues seem to have been minimized over the past six months or so. After a somewhat rough start with the Storm line of phones, I would now have to say that I do enjoy the Storm 2.

(More customer reviews)This one of the better windows phones out there on the market. With its thin profile and large 4in screen make this a first choice. I have had the HTC HD7 and Dell Venue Pro Windows phones for a few months and this is by far the best and a little faster than the other devices.
As for the mobile service, I've noticed that for T-mobile users, this version will not support 3G, you will have to find the T-mobile European version if you want 3G or 3G+ as for AT&T users, everything works fine but depends on the area you live in to get a 3G option on the device. Maybe there are some hacks that I need to discover to unlock that option of T-mobile.
The camera is on of the best with a ton of options and features to choose from and speakers are great and loud without any distortion or crackling. This will be my preferred windows phone until something better comes out.

- Quadband (world phone - works almost everywhere)
- Bluetooth (for headsets etc)
- WiFi (to connect to the Internet for faster surfing and places like Japan where Quadband doesn't work)
- Perfect synchronization with Microsoft Outlook
- Keypad (T9 - don't text enough for a full keyboard)
- No stylus needed
- Don't care about 3rd party software, but it's nice
The phone: The HP iPaq 510!
It fits my requirements great! And the Voice Commander software is pretty neat (some may think it's gimmicky, but it helps when you're driving a car).
Only minor niggles - wish it was even thinner (but the upside is HP put in a hefty batter) - keys require getting used to as kinda smaller (but hey, you got a big gorgeous display above them). Some people have complained about the screen not having higher resolution, but I find it fine (170x220).
With a little customization, this phone can be tailored to you! I changed the Shortcut keys, installed SmartphoneNotes (to sync Notes with Outlook), recorded some voice tags to improve the speech recognition (it actually can recognize speech without training, if necessary!) It will even switch from Normal to Silent (or Vibrate) mode whenever you're in a meeting! Sweet!
Note: Press and hold the Home key to get quick access to other function!

I had the phone for 1 year and it worked perfectly. Literally one week after the 1-year manufacturer's warranty expired, everything started going wrong. I tried to resolve this with my carrier, T-Mobile, who sold me the phone and they refuse to do anything since it is beyond the 1-year warranty period. The phone is hardly usable. I cannot make phone calls, view email, or browse the web without the phone freezing and/or turning itself off. I purchased a new battery and that did not help either. If you get a Dash that works, it will work well. If you are unlucky and get one that is a "lemon", then you will be very disappointed.

Absolutely unexcelled Bluetooth connectivity with anything other than my P.C. ~ Grabs my Intellitouch X Link (bluetooth) as soon as I pull into my drive.

The bad (or less than `good'): Speaker phone may only be engaged AFTER call is initiated. Absolutely NO means of linking with PC by means of USB cable, no memory card capabilities anyway. VERY limited internal memory, P/C- Bluetooth connectability listed buy apparently not supported, I can't figure how to get the VERY LIMITED pictures out of the phone. `Recording' function apparently for phone dialogue only. Slippery, smooth greasy feeling exterior may be negated by adding a "rubberized" snap-on cover.

Overall critique: For use as a cell phone VERY adequate, easy to use. For anyone wanting only a bare bones, easy to use cell phone, it's great! Has virtually none of the bling-bling non-phone features most cell phone users seem to want now days. Want a good, simple cell phone (only)? Go for it!
Even though this's a prepaid phone, AT&T will assign it to a normal monthly (month-to-month) account without initiating a contract.

design:
the build quality and general aesthetics are among the better designs Motorola Mobile Division has come up with. aside from the nearly useless D-pad, this is a solid slider phone with a surprisingly elegant keyboard.
performance:
as a mid-range Android device the Cliq comes with basic specs and offers lots of features for social networking via Motorola's proprietary skin MotoBlur. however, the longer i had the phone the more i noticed its short falls. this could have been a decent and mildly competitive device had Motorola offered updates as the Android OS base continued to evolve. over time the Cliq suffered from massive lag, regular random reboots, features becoming non-responsive, apps crashing and a plethora of other things that make this an unbearable mistake.
overall:
owning this for close to a year i've recently jumped to the Nexus S to find what a true Android experience is like. granted every OEM developing Android phones puts on their own skin, but from my experience MotoBlur is the worst of them. its heavy and clunky like an old truck that just needs to be put down.
there's no price that this device is worth (even for free). unless you want to experience the frustration of an orphaned device and video record yourself raging on it, it would be in best interest for you to turn away and go elsewhere for a device with competitive specs and good OEM support.

It is a nice phone, I took my 5 star review down after dealing with Tiger-direct the company that sells the phone but I can't resubmit another truer review. Anyway, this is the only format I can speak out, to let others know. The phone has nice feature's but the package for the phone doesn't come with a USB cord or a headphone set, the headphone set is a need in order for the FM radio to work. In an email that took 5 days from them to respond to my email, they said it only includes with the phone: User Manual, Rear Cover, Wall Charger, Battery. That is it.
For the headphones, to bad??? For the USB cord, I have to call 1866-603-0640...another company...for the USB cord, what about the headphones??? Oh and a sorry at the end of my email by, Maureen...customer service from tiger direct-amazon. I think they suck, My ratings at this POINT IS a "2".
So, everyone email them before you buy from them (tiger-direct) even if you have to wait 5 days at least you will know what you hard earned money pays for. After this experience with buying a cell phone from Amazon and Ebay, I will just buy from now on my cell phone provider, I seem to get ripped off by the folks who sell me parts to the phone with 'not' the complete package. Buyer BEWARE..
Another add-in, for what it is worth....

Oh, I want to add my daughter whose 16, this was a Christmas present...which I let her open early...the phone can't receive or send picture text either. Terrible seeing, that I have unlimited picture and text on the family plan, I have T-mobile, also, the 5-fav's doesn't work either, no biggie, I kind-of knew that, just making it known if you have T-mobile...Anyway--PLEASE BUYER BEWARE, about everything else, I've stated!!!!!

Also, I've ordered a camera from them as well "a palaroid" the SD card doesn't work either...really sad these folks. Sadly they don't care once they get your money. (More customer reviews)I have had my unlocked HTC Desire for a little over two weeks. At first, I was thrilled with it because it has such a nice display and Android 2.1 runs so smoothly. In the last couple of days, though, it has developed an annoying issue and I think all potential buyers should be warned. Occasionally when placing a call, the screen will go blank and there is no way to end the call or get the display back. HTC delivered at least my Desire with this flaw - and there are some hits on Google about this. All you have to do is Google "HTC Desire screen goes blank" to see what I mean. Apparently, the proximity sensor used by HTC does not work correctly all of the time. What it should do is turn off the screen and disable the buttons when you place the phone to your ear. The faulty sensor does not turn the screen back on and enable the buttons when you pull the phone away from your ear. I am hoping the Android 2.2 update will fix this problem, otherwise I am going to return my phone before the 30-day return period expires.
** Edited to add **
Two things have eliminated this problem today - and I do not know which helped the most. First, Android 2.2 was offered on the Desire today and I updated it. Second, one internet post indicated that a clear scratch protector may be causing the problem. I removed the scratch protector from the screen and the problem has gone away. I am not comfortable using it with no scratch protector - but I am much happier with the phone.

(More customer reviews)I've had this phone for about a month now, I am fairly pleased with its performance. I am somewhat demanding of my phones and always look to get the most bang for my buck. With the Tocco Lite I can honestly say that it is worth the money. The only complaint that I have got to date is an issue it has with its blue-tooth. I use a hands free blue-tooth earpiece that also has headphones with it the Samsung WEP870, great little gadget, the sound quality is excellent. The problem that I noticed right away is that once you turn off the MP3 player, unless you will use the headpiece, you absolutely must turn off the blue-tooth on the phone as it will eat up the battery within hours. When I did it the first time, the phone glitched. Even though the blue-tooth icon disappeared on the screen, the phone's battery continued to drain at a rate of one bar in about 2 hours. After trying a few things I finally came to a conclusion that the only way to turn off you blue-tooth after you used it with MP3 player is to restart the phone completely. That of-course resets the arrangement of the gadgets(a.k.a. apps for smart phones) and any other system setting that you have changed.
Besides this one little issue, the phone performs fairly well. Oh, another thing, it works pretty slowly if you are trying to use anything else with the MP3 player working.
